TrackersNW: 8th graders build a boat, KATU New Story
Thirty eighth grade students from the Portland Waldorf School recently joined local outdoor adventure organization TrackersNW and the urban hunter-gatherer community of Ancestral Lifeways on an adventure from the past at the southern oregon coast. At a local permaculture farm they built and launched a thirty person traditional skin whaling boat (skinned with nylon) called an umiak!
